Located on the banks of the River Yamuna, Agra has achieved a distinguished stature for itself in the world map. This historic city is known worldwide for being home to the monument of Love, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the splendid Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal was built by Shahjahan in the fond memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Agra Fort after being renovated by Akbar has since been the witness of the royal legacies of Mughuls. Its Diwan E Khas once had the peacock throne of Shahjahan which had the famous Kohinoor Diamond embedded in it. Magnificent view of the Taj is captured from the Musamman Burj, from where Emperor Shahjahan has spent his last days glaring at the Taj, remaining in the captivity of his Son, Aurangzeb. Fatehpur Sikri has the majestic Buland Darwaza, the tomb of Sufi Saint Salim Chisti and the exquisite Palace built by Akbar. It was in this palace from where Akbar has laid the foundation of a new religion called Din E Ellahi. Itimad Ud Daullah is a garden tomb built by Queen Mehrunisan in the fond memory of her father, while Sikandra marks the resting place for the Great Indian Emperor Akbar.

Like most of the northern parts of India Agra witnesses primarily four major climatic circles.

Summer Season:- Between April to June. Scorching heat prevails in the city and heat waves are common phenomenon. The burning Sun controls the weather of this Season and restricts movements during the day.

Monsoon: Between July to September.  Heavy downpours and humidity dominates the weather

Autumn and Winter:- October to March. The climate remains pleasant and favorable for tourism.

Historical Sites:-

Sikandra:- It houses the Mausoleum of Great Akbar. Built by his Son Jahangir in red Sandstone, it also has the tombs of many other members of the royal Mughul clan.

Religious Shrines:-

Mathura:- 53 kms from Agra, it comprises one of the four most significant religious Shrines of Hindus. It is the birth place of Lord Krishna, a magnificent temple called the Katra Keshav Dev has been constituted to honor this holy land. Many other splendid pagodas surround this holy city of Hindus.

Vrindavan:-  65 Kms from Agra, it was in the great lands of Vrindavan where lord Krishna is believed to have spent his childhood days tranquilizing the common mass of this small city with his Krishna Lilas.

Ecotourism:-

Soor Sarovar Bird Sanctuary:- 15 kms form Agra sanctuary lies on. It is the home more than 150 species of birds and has more than five thousand water birds.

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary:- At a distance of 65 kms from Agra on the border of U.P and Rajasthan lies the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary which is home to thousands of Avians.
