Patnagarh:- The erstwhile capital of kingdom of Patna it is the home for some ancient and unique monuments. The shrine built in Chalukyan style dedicated to Goddess Patmeshwari and Someswar Siva are the prominent ones.

Ranipur Jharial:- It is a place of religious unification. Faiths like Shiavism, Buddhism, Tantrism and Vaisnavism have been integrated here. The architecture of the Yogini temple dedicated to 64 Yoginis is a delight for the eyes. The magnificent brick temple of Indralath and Someshwar Siva temple are the other monuments of prominence amongst 50 odd temples spread all across the area.

Saintala:- It is known for the ruins of the Chandi Temple in Mahisamardini avatar. Excavation of the area has yielded the giant idol of Dasavatara Vishnu and a broken door jamb with figures of Ganga and Yamuna both these antiques are a representations of the marvelous art work produced by the artists of those period.

Harishankar:- On the slope of Gandharmardan hills, Harishankar is a place of exquisite scenic beauty with picturesque serene and roaring waterfalls and religious significance. Harishankar temple is unique in India for many reasons, it is the only temple in India where both Vishnu and Shiva are worshipped together as presiding deity, it is known not only for its antiquity but also for the ornately decorated porto-oriya inscriptions on the outer walls.

Belangir(Bolangir) primarily observes three main seasons. March to May its summer here burning sun and heat waves are common phenomenon of this season. Monsoon begin here from June and stays till September. Heavy rains restrict the movements during this season. Winter is seen here from October and continues till February. The weather remains pleasant in this season and it is best suited for excursion and sightseeing.
