The water recedes to as much as 5 kms on a normal day only to come back during ebb. The brown sea bed is visible in this unique beach and it seems to take a curve like C as if to denote Chandipur.

Talasari beach:- Talasari beach is another prominent beach in the Balasore district. Away from the hush bush of the cities tourist from far off places come here for seeking tranquility and peace.

Kshirachora Gopinatha Temple:- This temple was built by the great king Langula Narasimha Dev who acclaimed fame after building the magnificent Sun Temple of Konarak. Jagannath temple of Nilgiri, Chandaneshwar and Bhusandeswar are the other prominent places of tourist interest of this locality.

Panchalingeshwara:- Surrounded by thick forests and hills, Panchalingeshwara has evolved as a picnic spot apart from being famous for the Shiva temple with 5 phallus. The natural spring flowing down the hillocks further beautifies this place.

Bujakhia Pir:- Situated amidst the heart of Balasore, Bujakhia Pir is the tomb of a Sufi Saint Aasthana Sharif Hazrat Pir. This place is a unique representation of Hindu Muslim unity on earth.

Balasore witnesses three prime climates. Summer is observed here between March to May. The burning Sun makes tourism unfavorable in this season. The months between to June to September witnesses rainfall in Balasore, heavy rains observed during this season restricts the movements. Raibania:- 75 kms from Balasore, Raibania is famous for its forts in raign. The place has got historic significance and has got mention in Ain-e-Akbari. The fort now in its ruins was once famous for its huge number of tanks. The nearby Jaichandi Ban is a popular picnic spot these days.

Chawmukh and Dagara:-  These are two coastal villages located 64 kms from Balasore. The beaches here caressed by Casuarinas and golden sands are home for the red crabs. The peaceful serene of these beaches have converted them into popular picnic spots.
