The city is being built by Lavasa Corporation, a unit of Ajit Gulabchand's Hindustan Construction Company (HCC).

Resting behind the Dam of Varasgaon, the planned city is located on the banks of Baji Pasalkar. Situated around 65 km from Pune and around 180 km from Mumbai, Lavasa is accessible through as many as 5 routes.

You can approach Lavasa from Pune, which has the closest airport, around 49 KM from Lavasa. You may use Chhtarapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) of Mumbai, around 215 KM from the spot or the recently-constructed airport at Panvel, about 145 KM from here.
