Nagpur

One can spot Nagpur occupying the central most part of India and we know this because the Zero Mile Maker suggests and reaffirms this fact. People call Nagpur as Maharashtra’s second capital. Established by the Gonds, then ruled by the Marathas and later controlled and dominated by the British East India Company, Nagpur is now an independent city, which now enjoys the rank of being third when it comes to the size of the city.

 It is believed that the community of people presently residing in Nagpur has their origin associated with the Nag Dynasty that primitively used to exist.  And, it is due to this reason that Nagpur received its name. Nagpur also possesses the Nag River that meanders through its way just like a snake. Encompassing some area of the Deccan Plateau and possessing the fertility provided by the existence of the alluvial soil, Nagpur city is marked with the tropical climate which remains dry at most of the time.
