Nainital

With Naina, Aryapath and Deopatha mountains encircling it at the northern, southern and western boundaries, Nanital has its all-spreading charm that makes it all the more beautiful. It contains numerous tourist attractions and is marked with cool climate where the temperature doesn’t go beyond 27 degrees. Geographically, Nainital has the shape and form of a pear.

There are several myths associated with Nainital. The present Naini River was previously named as the Tri Rishi Sarovar. If you wish to know the myth related to Nainital, then you must get yourself acquainted with the story of the three sages, who became the reason for the origin of this lake. When the thirsty sages could not have access to water in Nainital, they dug some part of the earth and filled water into it, which was brought from the sacred Mansarovar Lake, located in Tibet.

One can also have a sight of the snow-capped mountains including Nanda Kot, Himalaya, Trisul and Nanda Devi.

The lakes that you are likely to come across while visiting this place include Sita Lake, Nal-Damyanti Lake, Laxman and Ram Lake as well as Panna Lake.
